When
you feel comfortable, we invite you to visit one of our small groups
where people gather together to grow spiritually and fellowship with
one another. We would like to begin to get to know you, share
with you a little bit about who we are, and introduce you to our
spiritual community. |
If you would like help choosing a
small group to join or would like to begin your own small group,
contact Bob Sheranko (410 326.3131).

Why Small Groups?
Harvest Fellowship can be described as a
“gathered/scattered” church after the early
church in the book of Acts:
And they devoted themselves to
the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the
breaking of bread and the prayers…and day by
day, attending the temple together and breaking
bread in their homes…and the Lord added to their
number day by day those who were being saved.
They met together as the whole church at the
temple, but their practice was also to meet in
the homes. The early Christian church was built
on the foundation of small groups.
|
What is a Small Group?
A small group is a face-to-face gathering of
3-12 people on a regular time schedule where a
sense of accountability to each other and to
Jesus Christ is present. Our groups
usually meet either weekly or two times a month.
|
What are the benefits of a Small
Group?
In the words of one Small Groups expert, “We
need each other! The Christian life is not a
solo journey."
Ministry and personal growth is
most effectively accomplished through a company
of Christians who are committed to Christ, to
one another, and to ministry in the world.”
Small groups are essential to the health of the
church, because they are where you will develop
meaningful relationships with Christ and other
Christians and receive support, encouragement,
teaching, equipping, prayer, accountability, and
opportunities to serve within the church.
