Harvest Fellowship Deacons Meeting

Call to Order:  @1635: Don Statter, Chairman of the Deacons

1.  A discussion of future deacon meetings was held.  The following was decided:

            - Regular monthly meetings would be held 3^rd Wednesday from 8-9PM @HF church

            - Agenda for meeting would be published 1 week in advance

            - Action Items would be taken and reported on at later date to avoid prolonged meetings

            - If less than 3 deacons were available the meeting would be rescheduled or cancelled for the month

2. Stewardship Plan discussed.

Stewardship envelopes have been mailed to the congregation by church secretary.  Announcements to the congregation will be made in the early service by Don Statter and in the later service by Scott Miller.  Additionally, The Harvest Highlights will provide information on the pledge drive to collect up budget info as well as time/talents the congregation wishes to provide for church service.

-          Action Item for Scott Miller: Email Tom Dunn previous years stewardship files to be used as a template for this year’s inputs.

3. Retreat Wrap-up Items discussed.

The deacons were thankful for all that was accomplished with the two full days of retreat work.  It was noted that Bob Sheranko serving as facilitator was a key factor to success and we were thankful for his presence and godly wisdom.  The following actions were taken:

-          Action Item for Scott Miller: Write up Retreat results and send out to deacons within 1 week time

-          Action Item for Don Statter: Request a joint meeting with the session to discuss results of retreat.  Update at next officer’s meeting.

-          Action Item for Scott Miller: Talk to Pete Tyson regarding specifics of sound booth move.  Engage elders on process/approval of decision.

-          Action Item for Dunn: Write up task list and role break out sheet for email to deacons and elders.

4. Miscellaneous topics

A) Topics held in confidence

B) Kal provided an update on computer set up.  An estimate of work completion was end of May but depends on how smooth software and server set-up proceed.

C) Tom reported on Malachut need for having someone to open the sanctuary for Friday 23 May service 6PM.  Alarm will not be set that night to avoid having to train up and provide code to a second person at Malachut congregation.

- Next Deacon meet is planned for 21 May 8PM.
